The legal implications of the recruitment placement of 1,100 junior linemen (JLM) posts in Telangana Transco have finally been removed.

Transco officials said the recruitment process for the posts would begin soon. To this extent they are exercising in that direction. It is known that Transco notification was issued in December 2017 for the recruitment of these posts and applications were received. However, the recruitment process came to a halt when some candidates filed a case in the High Court challenging the awarding of weightage marks in the replacement of JLM posts to contract and outsourcing employees. The court recently ruled in favor of giving weightage marks to contract and outsourcing employees / artisans. With this, the weightage will not exceed 20 marks for the entire service period at the rate of 2 marks per year of service.

Transco also issued a notification in December 2017 for the recruitment of 174 sub-engineer posts. A case is pending in the Supreme Court by some candidates challenging the provision of weightage marks in the recruitment of these posts. Transco officials said they would take up the process of replacing the sub-engineer posts once the case was settled.
